CARLOS TERRÉ

Carlos is head of infrastructure project finance ratings at Scope Ratings, the leading European credit rating agency, based in Berlin, Germany. He is a proponent of the need to reflect the secured, going-concern nature of project finance in the credit ratings of the asset class. Carlos has authored the most advanced project finance ratings methodology currently available, which has received positive feedback from project finance experts worldwide. A professional career of over 22 years in credit, strategy consultancy, finance and real estate has provided Carlos with an unusually broad and deep understanding of the business models underlying different sectors. Carlos is an expert in structured finance and structured credit and leverages his engineering background with his hands-on experience in project management, credit, finance, and business strategy. Prior to joining Scope, Carlos worked for Fitch Ratings and Santander, among others. Carlos graduated with honours in three master’s degrees: Telecommunications Engineering at Universitat Politécnica de Catalunya (UPC); an Executive MBA at IESE; and Economics at Universidad Francisco Marroquín (UFM) and OMMA. Carlos is also certified by the Global Association of Risk Professionals (GARP) as a Financial Risk Manager (FRM) and completed the focused program in Corporate Finance at IESE.
